I want to wish

you all a very
Happy New Year!
It seems like 2008 has passed so quickly; but I know that every year passes the same way. It's always like being on a roller coaster ride. Some days are up and some days are down.
I haven't made any New Year's resolutions yet; that's going to happen this evening, I'm sure. I also want to find the perfect "word" to sustain me throughout 2009.
I also signed up for the Project 365 at ScrapbookGraphics. We'll be taking a photo a day for 2009 and I believe I'm supposed to post my photos on my blog.
I also want to take time out to thank the wonderful CTs that I am on for having me participate this past year. I really am having a ball getting to know these very talented women. I love their designs (kits) and like having the ability to create my layouts using the kits.
So, THANK YOU... Jessica Dixon, Mama Mia designs by Mandy, Melissa Daniel, Micheline Martin, Neverland Scraps, Wendyzine Scraps, and the designers at Plain Digital Wrapper Site.
I hope 2009 brings everyone peace, joy and lots of time for scrapbooking!

I want to show you

these "Simply Elegant Holiday Photo Cards" which are going to be available soon at PDW. Denise Zavango created them and she makes it so easy for us to put a photo in them, sign our names, print and send out.

Here are a couple I made just to show you.

I made them using the Holiday Cards by Denise Zavango and used Tracy King's Christmas Glitter Elements to complete them. I think they turned out great!

Free Vintage Images Alert

I just had to post that Lisa Vollrath of Ten Two Studios is doing The Original Printables Holiday Countdown calendar with new vintage images given away each day. It's linkware, so all you have to do is post a link to the site and then download to your heart's content. Check it out here.

And I wanted to thank Donna Miller for posting this on her blog so I could find it.

I can't believe

that it's already December. Christmas is coming faster every year.

As I was working on a layout for the PDW CT I decided to create a quick page for you. The kit is Fireside by Julie Itis at PDW.

The link has expired. Sorry!

I know we will be seeing lots more Christmas-time kits as the days go by. I am thankful to Julie for allowing me to share the quick page with you.

For Unto Us...A Charity Kit

We all go through rough patches in our lives. And as we go through these hardships, we lean on each other and our faith to comfort us. Tragedy has recently befallen one of our own. Megan, the master behind the templates of Racketty Scrappety was, until recently pregnant with her third and fourth children. Nearly three weeks ago, 28 weeks pregnant, her water broke and had an emergency c-section to deliver her babies. Both of which were born without heartbeats. While the doctors were able to resuscitate one of her sons, the other, Baby Dex, didn't make it.
There were a number of complications, none of which caused any of the others. As Megan learned after the fact, her water breaking was the best thing that could have happened and was what allowed Baby Crew to be born fast enough to save his life. Megan has been generous enough to allow us all to share this time with her. You can read more about this amazing Mother and Son duo at Crew's Journey.
Crew is currently in the NICU and riding the "roller coaster" that accompanies this. We, over at Plain Digital Wrapper along with a few other great designers have joined together to make this beautiful kit dedicated to Crew.
Included in this kit are over 50 papers, over 150 elements, 2 alphas, $10 worth of gift certificates from various designers, over 50 of the templates from Racketty Scrappety herself, and a free gift with purchase! All proceeds will go towards Crew's mounting medical costs and other expenses for this family. It is called "For Unto Us..." and embodies the true spirit of Christmas. Get this kit HERE to help out for this cause.

A special thank you to Betsy Tuma, Athena of Studio Incognito, TammyKat Designs, Shawnery Mathis, Kristen Aagard, Amy Sumral, Brandi White, Tracy King, Elain Bittencourt, Julie It Is, Clever Crow, Gypsy Couture, Tammy Moore, Lisa Hanks of Southern Creek Designs, and Courtney Wilson of Skittles and Scraps for all of your help in putting this kit together for Megan, Crew and their family.
This is used by permission of Courtney Wilson. Please go to Courtney's blog, "Skittles and Scraps" to get the special freebie. This link will only be good for 48 hours.

Something for you

I'm having a great time as CT to the PDW designers. What a talented group of ladies!

One of the PDW Designers, Kiki Halbert, has a page kit at PDW called "It's a Classic". I love black and white and silver so this page kit was perfect for getting me in a creative mood.

And Kiki has so graciously allowed me to give this "It's a Classic" Quick Page #1 to you.

The only restriction is that I must take down the link in 2 days. So, if you want this quick page, grab it now because the link will come down on Monday. Also, if you want your friends to get it, please send them here to pick it up. Don't share the links with them or on any yahoo group.

Sorry, link has expired.

What a ride!!!

I really had a great time as a designer for Snaps2Scrap; but alas!!! People don't seem to want heritage designs/kits. Snaps2Scrap will close on Nov. 30 and if you want anything there, go now!!! Big discounts for you to snap up.

But, as the saying goes, when a door shuts a window opens, so now I'm on the PlainDigitalWrapper (PDW) CT. I'm not designing (but I hope I can get back into designing some day); but I am having fun with all the wonderful designer kits at PDW.

In the next couple of days, I'll be puttin up some quick pages from the designers at PDW. They design the kits, I create the quick pages. If you don't know, a quick page is just a page that's already been created and all you have to do is put your photo in it, and do a bit of journaling. It's a great way to get you layouts done with little effort and time.

Some of the designers at PDW have graciously said that the CT can create the Quick Pages and give them to you; but they can only be available for 48 hours. So, if you are interested, come and get the Quick Pages before the time runs out.

I'll post a picture of the quick page and the link later. Hope to see you then!

I call it, "Little Boy Blue Mini". It has 4 papers and 6 elements (frame, brad, tag, label, staple and paintsplash.

Please don't share the link in yahoo groups, send people here to get it. Thank you!

I am officially

a new designer at Snaps2Scrap! I am thrilled beyond belief! I uploaded my first kit, "Harvest Memories" to the store (on sale this week at 50% off).

Happy Birthday Mrs Miles

aka Barb, aka Olivia Dorazio!!! I sure hope you have a super great day.

I think it's so sad

that photos go unclaimed. Suzan, "Thrifty Collage Artist", found a box of unclaimed photos and has been giving a few of the old ones out on her blog.
So I've been trying to figure out a way to use some of them. I created this layout for the Lazy Days Kit by Mama Mia. I used deftone stylus as the font because I thought it looked like "old" writing.

Sunday, September 14, 2008

I am happy to present

a little known scrap site to you. It's a heritage scrap site called Snaps2Scrap and the owner, Cheryl McCain, has just put out a designer call at DST. So far two new designers have joined the site, Kay Eflin and Ruth Davis. Both are super heritage designers! And if you can't tell, I'm super excited to be associated with this site.

Kay has designed the site BLOG. She's done a wonderful job and she's even provided her "Country Gentlemen" kit as a gift to everyone who stops by. I thought it would be a nice start to the CHALLENGES if you first stop by the BLOG, pick up the kit, and then create a layout using that kit. Post the layouts in the gallery and go to the Blog Challenge thread in the Forum and give us a link. You'll see my posting gift to you in the first thread. I do hope you'll join me in the challenge.

If you are interested in preserving your heritage, come by the Snaps2Scrap site and check it out.

New goodies

from Mama Mia at Sophia Sarducci.
I used Mama Mia's See the USA (has all the states with their facts as overlays); and the September Grab Bag (what goodies are in there!!!).
I took the photos.

Tuesday, September 9, 2008

I'm thrilled!

I got accepted to be on the permanent CT for Mama Mia at Sophia Sarducci! What a talented designer and I know I'm really lucky to be on the CT. Now I get even more goodies to play with.

So, for my first layout for Mama Mia, I created a SURPRISE for my DH's 65th birthday.

I used Time Marches On kit by Mama Mia at Sophia Sarducci, Freestyle Script font and my photos. I love the richness of the papers and the wonderful elements Mama Mia creates.

September Grab Bag

from Olivia Dorazio is just chock full of styles!!!!
I had so much fun making this layout. I used a photo from It's About Time by Amy Pearson at Scrapbook Graphics, the September Grab Bag by Olivia Dorazio from Sophia Sarducci, DD Designer Pack by Olivia Dorazio, Sweet Music and Cuppacoffee from Mrs. Miles' blog (that's how I created the background paper) and the font is Bickley Script.
I can't tell you how many styles are in Olivia's September Greab Bag; but there are a lot. I also think it's amazing that the Grab Bag is OK for personal, Scrap for Hire and Commercial use.

I had so much fun

creating my "Coffee" ATC.

I used Olivia Dorazio's "Olivia's Kitchen" kit, Coffee Cup photo from classic thirst photos by Amy Pearson and Old Grunge overlay by Amy Pearson. That font is Dyspepsia and the quote is, "Coffee smells like fresh brewed heaven. ~Jessi Lane Adams.".

If you don't know, ATCs are artist trading cards and they are only ever traded, not sold. They are 2.5 inches x 3.5 inches and are really fun to create. Try it sometime!

Oh yes, check out Olivia Dorazio's Shop at Sophia Sarducci tomorrow for Olivia's new Grab Bag!

Something you can do...

Please go to Faith Sisters Scrapbooking and vote for one of my CT designers, Neverland Scraps. She's such a talented designer and needs your votes to get accepted at Faith Sisters as a new designer.

Here's her kit, which you can download at the Faith Sister's Gallery.

Thanks for your help.

And the final page

is being given away today.

Download Page 6 here.

Thank you all for coming by and picking up the pages. Olivia Dorazio and I hope you enjoy them and can use them for some of your scrapbook layouts.

Don't forget to go over to Mrs. Miles' blog and pick up with other pages.

I just got the Tsunami Blue kit

from Olivia Dorazio and I love the colors! This kit is just loaded with beautiful elements and papers. And I knew immediately what photo I wanted to use with it.
During our trip to Disney's EPCOT, World of Tomorrow, we rode through THE LAND. We all loved learning about hydroponics and growing some amazing new plants.
Credits for the layout are Tsunami Blue Kit by Olivia Dorazio, font is Comic Sans MS, and the photo is by me! I use PSE 5.

New stuff from Olivia

I got the new Junkyard Garden 2 kit from Olivia Dorazio and just fell in love with the Vine overlays and the Raven in the Elements Pack. Of course, the papers are simply wonderful!

This layout is called "Welcome Home!" and has Junkyard Garden 2 papers, Vine Overlay, Element Pack 1 and Element Pack 2. Olivia's kit parts can be found at Sophia That funky font is called "Boopee". And I absolutely adore the photo I used from the Doors and Windows set 2 by Amy Pearson who sells at Scrapbook

And here's the second layout I made called "First things first":
I'm going to do a vacation day album featuring our trip to Epcot in Disney World. We went to the World of Tomorrow and had a great time. So, The first thing we had to do was actually get to Disney, pay and park and then use our tickets to get into the Epcot theme park.

I used Olivia Dorazio's Junyard Garden 2 papers, Element Pack 1 and Element Pack 2 along with the blog fre* Junkyard Garden 2 Add-On from Mrs. Miles. I also used Olivia's Jelly Pockets from her August Grab Bag at Sophia Sarducci. com. The font I used was Promised Freedom. I scanned in our parking pass and my ticket to use on this layout.

I hope you checkout both Olivia's and Amy's stores.

Olivia's got some new stuff!

I've fallen in love with Olivia Dorazio's stuff!!! I even sent her a note and asked if she needed any CT members. And guess what???? I'm her first official CT member. Woo Hoo!!!!

Have you seen her Junkyard Garden Kit? Go over to her shop at Sophia Sarducci and take a look.

And today is Monday, so you know Olivia has a new grab bag out!

I'll be back later to show you the layout I did using these fantastic products.

Thursday, July 31, 2008

Where did July go?

I can't believe it's the end of July already! But, I'm so happy. I created an ATC from products that Barb (Mrs. Miles) and KimB had provided for free on their blogs. Of course I had to send it to them.

And Barb (aka Olivia D'Orazio at Sophia Sarducci) so graciously gave me her Junkyard Garden Kit. Here's the layout I created with that fantastic kit. It's just jam packed with all sorts of goodies.

So, I'm looking forward to August and what it will bring.

Hummie has a new June

color palette up on her forum for those of us who wish to design or just be creative. I am really loving these designing stints.

The colors are soft and beautiful and the theme is "toiletry" so I named my kit "Eau de Toilette". Here's a preview:

And here's the 4shared link:
Please leave a comment if you download it and remember to send your friend here to the blog to grab the link. Thank you!

May Color Challenge

at hummie's world was so much fun!

I loved the colors - to me they looked like a Mexican Fiesta, so I had my theme of "Fiesta" and went from there. The kit contains 5 solid papers, 5 patterned papers, 7 Word Art pieces, 1 frame cluster, 1 journal, 1 staple, 1 doily cluster, 1 rafia flower cluster, and 1 border.

The kit is for personal or S4H/S4O use.

Here is the like and I hope you like it! (Oh yes, no sharing the link, please!)

It seems that NSD

has already started! It is (Inter)National Scrapbook Day somewhere already, so Antonio Rafaello asked me to come up with a challenge. The challenge is to use as many of Antonio's products as you can in a layout and put it in a gallery, then post the link in this thread at DST:

Go on, you know you want all the great stuff that Antonio creates, so make a layout and post a link. It's that easy! And it's all about having fun.

Spring is finally here

and I'm so glad! I was getting so tired of cold weather.

We got back from our wonderful cruise and then I got sick and then we had company. Hectice times!

I got a note from Patti Digh of saying that the ATC I created for her book "Life is a Verb" has been accepted. I am so excited about being published for the first time.

Here's the ATC:

Happy Spring, everyone!

designer challenge up at I've entered; but it's a long shot if I make it as a designer there either. Fun, though, and I learned a few things, which is always a delight.

PPF is having their grand opening this coming weekend. So, if you are in the mood for a scavenger hunt and a layout challenge, go check it out.

I am Elinor Dashwood!

Take the Quiz here!

Having fun

today and just playing around with PSE. So I used different elements from Melissa Daniel's kits (Love Is, Song Sun Blue, To the Point and The Rainbow Sherbet Collection all avalailable at to make a quick page for you. (Melissa is so generous! She said I could give it away to you. Thank you, Melissa!)

You can get it here:

There is no TOU with it; so if you use it, you can say Quick Page created by mizamigo using Melissa Daniel kits. Also, you can use it S4O/S4H as all of Melissa's kits are S4O/S4H acceptable. I'll remember to put a tou in my next qp. Also, there is a lot of room on the QP. I figured that if you are going to put 3 photos in the film slide, you might want to have room for journaling or tags or other elements. Hope you like it!

There are some

wonderful challenges going on at the different digital scrapbook sites.

I love color challenges, and template challenges, and brag book challenges and "kit" challenges (where you get a color swatch and have to create a mini kit) and so many more challenges.

I hope you are having lots of fun creating goodies this new year!

A New Year and a lot

of CT work for me to do! But I love it!!!

And I'm going to start on a lap quilt for my son-in-law's birthday coming up. That should be a nice break and let me think about some of the layouts I want to create.

It was 27 degrees last night so that was just too cold for me! Today it's up to 48+ degrees but it's going to be in the 30's again tonight. Of course, then we're going to get back up in the 70's for the weekend. I love that!

I hope everyone stays warm and cozy.

Happy, happy

New Year!!!!

What a great and glorious New Year (2008) we are going to have. A fresh start on the pages of our lives, a fresh start to all those projects, and a fresh new outlook. Bright, cheery, optimistic.

Don't you just love a fresh, new beginning?
