So, what do you think?

I didn't make it to Round 2 of the SAS-y Lady Designer Contest; but what a great experience. And I still get to see what the Designers Contest people see, so all the hints, tips and tricks are available and I can get a bit more help with designing.

I love Wendyzine Scraps at SBG. She's one terrific action creator! And she's having a sale. Now's the time to get her actions, calendar (2010) templates and other great products.
Wendyzine Scraps' Store at SBG. Just grab the sale codes from her ad and have a great time browsing her store for some goodies.
Since it's September, it's a great time to start thinking about the upcoming Holiday Season. You can get started on your 2010 Calendars, and photo books.
Have fun!

I promised you a QP

And here's a picture of my Harmony QP. You can download it here.
As a new designer, it was really hard for me to know what to put in the kit. The papers weren't the problem, but what elements would everyone want? I just went with what I would like to see in the kit. Then the second part of our assignment was to make a quickpage from the kit and give it to you. I hope you enjoy it and can use it in your digital scrapping. It's a 12x12 page at 300 dpi.
Thanks for stopping by.

Sas-y Lady Designer Contest Round 1

Here is the minikit that I designed for the Sas-y Lady Designer Contest Round 1. I love the color palette that was given to us for this round. And the harmony of the colors suggested the title of the kit.
We were limited to 2-4 papers and 5-8 elements, one of the elements had to be a cluster.
This kit contains 3 papers, 1 frame cluster, 1 tag, 1 arrow, 1 staple, 1 swirl, 1 frame, 1 paperclip and 1 alpha (uppercase, lowercase and numbers). It was made at 300 dpi.
I hope you will vote for me in this round. You can go to Stone Accents Studio gallery to pick up the kit for free.
I'll have a quickpage for you my next note. Thanks for stopping by!

My team didn't win

the BOTCT; but we had a great time using all of Mandy King's (Mama Mia) designs and kits.

And in the news today, there is a designer challenge at Stone Accents Studio which will start on September 1. I have signed up for this challenge; but now I have to take a bunch of photos and extract some images so I can have a few "CU" (commercial use) products to use for the challenge. I'm not sure how to do extractions that are good enough for commercial use; but practice makes perfect, so I'll be practicing a LOT!

DSA BOTCTs and a contest

DSA's Battle of the CTs is in its last week of challenges. I'll post my layout later.

And here's a fantastic contest from Wendyzine Scraps!
Wendy has some super actions and she's also got some
great templates. But in addition to doing both of those
you also get to just make a comment on the SBG blog
for a chance to win.

So go over to the SBG Blog. Good luck!

The Battle has started at DSA

DigiScrapAdicts is having a 4 week Challenge - Battle of the Creative Teams. I'm on Mama Mia's Marvelous Memory Makers team. Simply put, the rules of the challenge are that we have to use ONLY products from our designer - Mama Mia in my case.
For the first challenge we had to create a layout using white space. So here is my layout Chief Cook... :

A Bookmark Template

Miss Chrissy D. requested a bookmark template at DST so she can make bookmarks for the first day of class to give to her incoming students. I tried to find some bookmarks in some of the digital stores "out there"; but nothing showed up. So I made one for her.

If you think you can use it, too, please feel free to download it. Remember to send your friends here to grab the download link. Please don't share it in yahoo links, etc.

Here's the link for you: Bookmark Template.

What do you think?

I've decided to use my blog to post some layouts that I make using my CT designer's kits. Since I really haven't been "mumbling" I might as well use it to show off those kits.

Here is my "fireworks" layout using Saxon Holt's Little Miss Liberty Kit.

It's a great kit for any red/white/blue layout you want to make; but it's also nice for those fireworks photos or July 4th party photos.

And here's my Horse Shoes layout using All Dotted Out papers, All Dotted Out alpha, Rusty Frames and When Was That products from the July Grab Bag by Mama Mia Designs by Mandy King at My Life and Scraps.

A bit late, but here are the Shuttle Photos

Here are the photos of the space shuttle that I promised over a month ago!
Take off from Cape on 3-14-09:
We usually go outside a minute after take off on TV. This is looking East from our house.

And here is the shuttle a bit higher in the sky:
The shuttle is a lot higher in the sky now.
I'm not sure you can see it, but I did catch the boosters as they were detaching from the shuttle here:

We've been in Florida for 28 years now and it's always a thrill to see the launches. I never get tired of looking at them. Someday I would love to go to the Cape and be close up for a launch.

The Shuttle Discovery has

lifted off from the Cape and it's headed to the ISS.

We can actually see the Space Crafts after they have left the pad and about 1 minute after take off we go outside and look East. Tonight I got a few very good photos of the Shuttle and I will post the photos tomorrow.

I hope all goes well and the experiments are a success.

March came in like a Lion

all blustery and cold! It's warmed up a bit; but may still get colder this weekend. I hope March is going to go out like a lamb!

I was very upset to learn that TSG (the scrapping garden digital web site) is closing its doors on March 19. But I was very happy to accept a CT position with the new site Keep It Simple Scraps (kisscraps). So, one door closes and another opens.

I still haven't decided what to do to refresh my blog header. I'll figure it out and one day suprise you.

Why

is it so hard to keep a blog current?

I get sidetracked a lot. That's my excuse and I'm sticking with it!!!

So how many of you started doing the P365 and then decided to take a break? I am in awe of those who are disciplined enough to take a photo each and every day for a year. I love taking photos and thought this would be an easy project; but I guess I'm not in that disciplined mode. I really love taking lots of photos for projects; not one a day. Oh well, like Ms. Nevermore said in her Sunday Rambling, I'm not prefect, and if I lapse for a few days, I can start taking photos again.

I know, I have to fix that header so it fits nicely on the page with the new sidebar papers.

Have a happy Groundhog's day!
